Its main number is 810-664-1801, and posted administrative hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Use this route for sheriff-created incident or arrest reports and county jail material. A record written by a city police department remains with that city rather than becoming a Sheriff record.

Both local courts are in the Lapeer County Complex at 255 Clay Street, Lapeer, MI 48446. The 40th Circuit Court clerk is in Suite 227, answers at 810-667-0358, and posts weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The 71A District Court number is 810-667-0314. Its public lobby is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with telephone service through 5:00 p.m. District Court keeps misdemeanors and felony preliminary matters; Circuit Court keeps bound-over felony files and criminal appeals.
